A dream inspired by Katy Perry
Here at VIVRA, we are all about living with freedom (and living hands-free of course!). The freedom to explore, learn and create is something we’re very grateful for and something we aim to continue practicing constantly!
As a young startup company, we’re always looking at ways to be innovative, exciting and fresh. After all, our fabulous patented magnetic belt-free bum bag is pretty innovative! :) Queue this pivotal moment in the journey, when in 2017, Emily first heard a radio interview with the one and only Katy Perry, as she was talking about her spiritual journey, and she spoke so passionately about wanting to inspire others to pursue their dreams. Following this we found out that Katy Perry’s VIP package for her current “Witness” tour included a Witness themed bum bag. Was this a sign?
Emily then saw a therapy session between Katy and Dr Siri Singh, and Katy had spoken fiercely about liberation and selected the ‘Freedom” angel card - needless to say no sleep was had that night after all these lined up moments!
As huge fans of Katy Perry already, we knew we had to do something about this. We decided to do more investigating into Katy’s journey, and learn about how she arrived to this point in time and what sparked her desire to inspire women to find their freedom. She really resonated with us!
So we then had the crazy idea that VIVRA could produce custom (belt-free!) bum bags for Katy, inspired by Katy herself! We worked tirelessly on the designs with Natasha Dearden, from Melbourne and what a process it was! We’ve worked on designs for our VIVRA range before, but this was a whole new ball game that we hadn’t planned, but really wanted to execute on! We really wanted to capture something meaningful - hence the striking eyes of Katy Perry, the window to the soul! Tash, you’re a dream to work with and we’re so excited that we got to connect and make this happen together
This had to be perfect! We really wanted Katy to see it (somehow!) and fall in love with it too. After all, freedom is such a big part of what VIVRA is about, so we wanted to capture that through the design, given VIVRA is all about freedom! It was a lot of back and forth with designs, and samples with factories to ensure what we got back was nothing less than perfect! We wanted a high quality, beautiful hands-free pouch.
We came down to two final designs that we love! One with Katy’s beautiful eyes surrounded by vibrant colour, and another with one eye that was created for her current “Witness” worldwide tour! We love them both so much and of course they’re both bounce-free, belt-free and hands-free - so you can move forward with freedom!
Well, fast forward a year, and here we are at this point! We have now produced 2 samples of Katy Perry inspired VIVRAs! We really love them, and hope all of you and of course Katy does too. Our amazingly supportive friend, Bianca Dye, has been on a mission for us to help get these in front of Katy, and you know what Bianca, you’re a total rock star. Not many people would go above and beyond for a little Brisbane startup, but you have totally taken it next level for us! And a big special shoutout to Scott, you are an absolute legend and we are so grateful for your support!
